01 / Behind the artwork
Music, friendship and a physical release.
Ruffneck Intellect is one of the music projects I created artwork for through a friend I have known since we were fourteen or fifteen. That long friendship gives this work a place in my personal archive as well as my design portfolio.
The artwork carries its atmosphere across the front cover, track listing, inner inlay and disc. Strong type establishes the title; silhouettes and layered texture connect the rest of the package.

More than a front cover.
CD artwork has several connected surfaces: the front, back, spine, inside panels and disc. Each has a different job, from setting the mood to making the track list and credits readable.
The clean presentation above brings those elements together for the portfolio. The original photographs preserve the details of the physical release.
